Like our other design the Base Table, this Base chair has bend legs. The legs are made of metal using two cross arches it forms a simple construction to support the wooden seat. The seat has character because it also is bent but still it is comfortable to sit on.

Connecting the Dots, the newest magazine on Dutch design to be distributed during Milan Design Week, is nearing completion. All Dutch design studios and companies active in design exhibiting in Milan can present themselves, free of charge and under their own name, in this magazine on Dutch design.

‘een mooi ding’

Museum Hilversum brengt in `Een Mooi Ding ́ 120 jaar Nederlandse vormgeving in beeld. Parallel hieraan is er een overzicht gemaakt van de periode 1890-2010 op regionaal niveau. De tentoonstelling maakt inzichtelijk hoe het ambacht zich in de twintigste eeuw in Nederland ontwikkelde en in hoeverre de Nederlandse vormgeving hierdoor is beïnvloed. En er wordt aangetoond hoe via vormgeving de industrie kan worden verrijkt en door ondernemerschap de cultuur kan worden vernieuwd.

Laro Chair

One way to make products durable. The Chair is made from wooden (maple) parts that are joint together by crafted connections. It is not that difficult to repair or renew parts when necessary. This way the chair will last longer.

‘Honey, can you light the barbecue?’

Studio Niels & Sven presents firewood at Peninsula in Eindhoven during
the DDW. On the basis of themes: durability, functionality and prosperity we created sculptures using firewood. For instance “The Smokey Joe” BBQ made from wood is an ambiguity between material and design causes the user/ spectator to think about life functionality, value and decay.

Vrouwelijk Schoon can be translated as “Female Cleanliness”. The bucket is transformed to a high end product by re-designing the handle. Now you can cool champagne, use it as a vase or put your husband to work with it!

You can choose a white or black bucket and combine it with a white,
black or pink handle.

Tabletop made of Walnut. Tri Leg made of steel tube. The table top exists out of six pieces. This table is custom made for a room with an hexagon groundplan so the shape of the room is translated to the tabletop design. It is made out of six pieces. To save room under the table three legs support the tabletop. We kept room between the legs and tabletop to make the design look very slim.

De Creatieve Groote Club (CGC) opent voor de derde maal haar deuren met drie evenementen. Van 26 november tot en met 3 december is er in het ‘Arts and Crafts Lab’ aan het Damrak een expositie met kunst van 21 designers, fotografen en beeldend kunstenaars. Bezoekers kunnen werk bewonderen van onder andere Katrien Franken, Nikola Nikolov en de Ontwerp.plek, maar ook van eindexamenstudenten van de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht. Naast de expositie is er een bijeenkomst van Creative CAPITAL over geld en creatief ondernemerschap en organiseert ASIFF een sessie over duurzame mode.

Rendering Shop Window Fall 2008 by WE Fashion

Window display design for the fall season 2008. This design is very fun to play with because of all the different possibilities. All the different legs can be combined with different volumes.

Shopwindow Spring 2008

A collaboration between Studio Niels & Sven resulted in the new etalage concept for spring 2008. These jacks with versatile forms and hight can be combined in a lot of different ways. The advantage of one concept that lasts a whole season is not only financially but also the concept is more durable.

WE Fashion presents its collection to the press and magazines. The presentation is inspired by the nordic landscapes and colours. A 30 meter long pier brings you from the entrance to the back of the hall. When you walk along there are seats and the collection to look at. The icebar at the end of the presentation is ideal for cooling the drinks and sashimi.

‘Schat steek jij de BBQ eens aan’

Studio Niels & Sven presenteert tijdens de DDW bij Peninsula een serie ontwerpen gebaseerd op de vergankelijkheid en alternatieve functionaliteit. De Smokey Joe barbecue en de Laro Chair zijn producten die de toeschouwer er toe zet na te denken over levensduur en functionaliteit.

Graag nodigen wij van Peninsula en Studio Niels & Sven u van harte uit voor een hapje en drankje op onze BBQ. Deze zal plaatsvinden op zaterdag 17 oktober vanaf een uur of zeven in de avond.

Op zondag 25 oktober kunt u om twee uur ‘s middags komen kijken naar: Knitting performance van Nell Berger & Jean Hilkens.

Een lijn van basics voor in de woonkamer in sinds oktober te koop bij de Wehkamp. Onder de naam Stelten vindt u meubels zoals bijvoorbeeld een eettafel, bankjes en kastjes. Allemaal handig en leuke meubels. De basis voor deze lijn is de poot die verjongt naar benenden loopt.
